Into the Medina

Marrakech is loud, colorful and wonderful. Our guide grew up inside the medina walls and leads us through the souks to the workshops tourists never find, then up to a rooftop for mint tea at sunset.

We cross the High Atlas through Berber villages and reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi by camel. The night in the desert camp, with music around the fire, is the moment most travelers talk about for years.
